I. There are powerful demographic forces at work in the U.S. that virtually mandate federal policy be changed to permit more immigration than we have now. The rapid increase in the number of very elderly people, combined with declining numbers of young adults and a record low population growth rate, will put this nation in a demographic vise.
Paying for the income security and medical needs of the elderly while at the same time improving the educational opportunities and well-being of children (not to mention paying interest on the federal deficit and rebuilding infrastructure)...
