Air Pollution | Air Pollution Is a Serious Health Risk in Asia
A huge cloud of air pollution stretches across much of India, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia, threatening the health of billions of people living in that region. The thick layer of dust, ash, and smoke from fires and industry causes a large number of respiratory illnesses each year. Scientific evidence also shows that the pollution may be causing drought and famine. Researchers are beginning to realize that Asia’s pollution, because it spreads for thousands of miles, is a global health threat.
