The Age of Innocence was made into a highly successful movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis as Newland Archer, Michelle Pfeiffer as Countess Olenska, and Winona Ryder as May Welland Archer, and directed by Martin Scorsese in 1993. The movie is remarkably faithful to the novel.
