Thank you for an excellent article regarding global warming and Africa (Avoiding disaster--Climate change in Africa, African Business May 2007 issue). It certainly raises my hopes that with clear thinking officials like Yogesh Vyas' and Daniele Ponzi's at Africa's premier development agency, the African Development Bank, there is a chance we can avert the disaster that global warming poses.
One of the lesser known causes of global warming is deforestation, and Africa's great rainforests of West and Central Africa continue to be exploited to by the world's timber industries....
