To me, what Huck Finn knows about himself at the end of the book is what he knew about himself at the beginning.  It's the idea that he is not cut out for life in the somewhat hypocritical world of civilization.

At the end of "Tom Sawyer," Huck had run away from the Widow Douglas because she was trying to civilize him after he had gotten rich. At the end of this book, Huck is once again planning to run away.  This time he's planning to run away from Tom's Aunt Sally because he's afraid she'll try to civilize him just like the Widow Douglas did.
