Legal abortion is generally safe for women, explains Susan Dudley in the following viewpoint. Physical complications resulting from legal abortions are relatively rare—particularly with abortions that are performed in the first three months of pregnancy, the author points out. Furthermore, she maintains, most women who have abortions do not experience undue sadness or long-term feelings of guilt.
