I'm afraid no one is going to be able to answer this "question" for you. Your teacher is asking you to describe a time when you wanted to confess or tell the truth about something that happened, but for some reason decided not to. In this book, Gene always assumed that because he resented Finny's athletic success, Finny must also resent Gene's academic success. When proved wrong, however, Gene doesn't know how to react. He can't understand how Finny can care so little about his own success. It is out of this resentment and jealousy that Gene causes Finny's accident. But he can't bring himself to tell the truth Was there a time when you intentionally hurt someone by starting a rumor or some other way? That's what your teacher wants you to write about.
