About the Author: H. Rush Limbaugh III (1951–) grew up in a wealthy, conservative family in Missouri. After flunking out of college, he pursued his long-held ambition of becoming a radio disk jockey in 1971. He worked at various stations throughout the 1970s, and after a stint as a salesman for the Kansas City Royals, he returned to the airwaves in 1984 as the host of a call-in show in Sacramento.
