About the Authors: Byron White (1917–2002) was a Rhodes Scholar and talented athlete in college. He got his law degree from Yale University and played for a short time in the NFL. President John F. Kennedy (served 1961–1963) appointed White to the United States Supreme Court in 1962, and White served as an associate justice until 1993. William H. Rehnquist (1924–), after military service in World War II (1939–1945), received degrees from Stanford and Harvard, before...
