About the Author: Mary Fisher (1948–) is the daughter of the multi-millionaire philanthropist and financier, Max Fisher. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she grew up in an affluent suburb of Detroit, Michigan. After dropping out of the University of Michigan, Fisher became a television producer.
