About the Author: Bernard Ebbers, chief executive officer of WorldCom, led a small telecommunications company in Mississippi in the 1990s to merge with MCI, the second largest long-distance telephone company in the nation. On the day of the merger, Ebbers discusses the significance of the merger with PBS NewsHour reporter Phil Ponce and reporter Joshua Cooper Ramo of Time magazine.
