Question:

In Chapters 5-7, please give examples of manipulative communication and state what the language really means.

Orwell's characters and narrator use language to communicate hidden agendas.  Sometimes Orwell hints that language should be carefully questioned, other times it is up to the reader to notice.

Example:  (Page 32) In future all questions relating to the working of the farm would be settled by a special comittee of pigs presidied over by himself.

Reply:  Napoleon is going to make all the decisions from now on.
