About the Author: Norman Vincent Peale (1898–1993) was born in Bowersville, Ohio, and ordained a Methodist Episcopal minister in 1922. He served as pastor at Marble Collegiate Reformed Church in New York City from 1932 to 1984. He helped found the American Foundation of Religion and Psychiatry in 1937. He was a prolific author of books, a noted radio and television personality, and a stimulating lecturer.
