About the Author: Ivan Moffat (1918–2002) was born in Cuba. He studied at the London College of Economics and served in the Army during World War II. He was also part of the documentary film unit that covered the Allies' efforts in Europe. Moffat was nominated for an Academy Award with Fred Guiol for the screen adaptation of Edna Ferber's novel Giant (1956).
