About the Author: Niels Bohr (1885–1962) received his physics doctorate at Copenhagen in 1911, then moved to England where he worked briefly with noted physicist J.J. Thomson at Cambridge's Cavendish Laboratory. He held a physics lectureship at Victoria University in Manchester, where he worked under Ernest Rutherford.
