About the Author: Niels Bohr (1885–1962) received his physics doctorate at Copenhagen in 1911, then moved to England where he worked briefly with noted physicist J.J. Thomson at Cambridge's Cavendish Laboratory. He held a physics lectureship at Victoria University in Manchester, where he worked under Ernest Rutherford. Bohr was appointed Professor of Theoretical Physics at Copenhagen University in 1916. Four years later, the university established...
