About the Author: Louis D. Brandeis (1856–1941), the first Jewish member of the Supreme Court, was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Harvard with one of the highest grade point averages in the history of the school. Nominated to the Supreme Court by President Woodrow Wilson (served 1913–1921) in 1916, he is famous for being one of the Court's most brilliant jurists and for his thorough examinations...
