About the Author: Alfred A. Cohn (1880–1951) was a prolific Hollywood screenwriter. His screenplay for Warner Brothers' The Jazz Singer (1927) was based on Samson Raphaelson's highly successful Broadway play, "The Day of Atonement." The Jazz Singer starred Al Jolson (1886–1950), already a singing sensation and often called the "World's Greatest Entertainer."
