About the Author: Mary C. Morgan was a graduate of the Bryn Mawr College in 1915, and she was associated with the Lansdowne Country Club of Philadelphia. She edited Girls and Athletics, a book that was part of the Spalding's Athletic Library, one of the most prominent publishing endeavors in the early history of sport. Its titles encouraged participation in sport and supported Spalding's own sporting goods company.
