About the Publication: Ladies' Home Journal had its beginnings in a newspaper column called "Women and Home" in the Philadelphia Tribune and Farmer. In 1883, the writers of the column, Cyrus Curtis and Louisa Knapp Curtis, began a supplement to the Tribune and Farmer called Ladies' Journal. He was the publisher, and she was the editor.
