About the Author: Clarence Darrow (1857–1938) was one of the most famous criminal defense and civil liberties lawyers in the twentieth century. He represented miners in a coal strike in Pennsylvania in 1903, but his most famous case was his defense in the Scopes Monkey Trial in 1925.
